Rob Pitts, Partner

Rob started in the insurance profession in 1975 with Crum & Forster Insurance in their Executive Management Training Program after attending Baldwin Wallace College in Berea, Ohio. From 1975 through 1987, Rob served several underwriting companies in various positions in the Illinois/Indiana region as well as the New York Metropolitan area, ending as Regional Surety Manager of the Cigna Corporation.

After 12 years of underwriting company experience, Rob joined Marquis & Associates in 1987 as Vice President of Surety operations. At Marquis, he expanded the surety bonding operation, responding to the myriad financial and business issues unique to the construction industry. As surety leader, Rob managed the surety market/client relationships, bringing with him skills derived from the various positions held on the underwriting company side of the business. Over the 10 year period commencing in 1987, Rob managed and assisted in the development of a corporate surety revenue stream that grew considerably over that timeframe. Rob became a partner in Marquis & Associates in 1992.

In 1997, Willis purchased Marquis & Associates and Rob continued as Vice President-Practice Leader of the New Jersey Surety operation. Due to his level of experience and business acumen, Rob's role was expanded and in 2002, and he was promoted to Senior Vice President. He managed, developed, and mentored surety practice team members and assisted in the new business development effort of the overall construction practice.

Rob has led the Surety Practice at Construction Risk since inception and has developed many long-term, business relationships with all of the CRP surety clients who rely on his extensive 35 years of experience for counsel. Additionally, Rob continues to be active in many NJ/NY contractor associations.
